crazy longboard sliding and bails

I currently have a standard size skateboard with ABEC 3 bearings, 55mm poly wheels and furniture (branded products) trucks. Is there any way (except the update apparently my bearings (Getting Bones Reds weekend)), that I could improve my performance on the cruise to match Longboarding? Can I get a Longboarding wheels in my head, and this allows the wheel to bite?
